A Beautiful View
"It's beautiful, isn't it?" exclaimed Ivan, looking out over the huge finished solar array. "Ten years of work and it's finally finished."
"It is a proud moment indeed," agreed Petro, "not just for you but for all the people of Ukraine."
Ivan wanted another good look at their work so he climbed up the scaffolding adjacent to the battery storage unit and went up onto its roof. He put his hands on his hips and smiled at the view. Petro joined him.
"It's ironic," Ivan said, pointing to the massive silver arch that now encapsulated the forever-ruined Chernobyl reactor just a mile away, "so much death came from that place. Now it provides so much life, so many jobs."
"My parents were here when it happened," said Petro. "They saw the horrors. They would be pleased to see what it has become, all things considered."
Ivan chuckled. "This is just the start too. One gigawatt today; who knows how many tomorrow. More companies want to build new solar installations here after seeing how successful we've been. And now that UNIRO is helping, we can finally heal this scar on our country."
"Heal, yes," Petro sighed. "Forget… Never."
