Hello everyone! My name is Zachary Eichholz, but Zach is fine. Welcome to my website. Hope you’re enjoying it so far. I’m sure you’ve already seen my books but if you’re reading this page right now you came here to learn who I am. So, let me tell you what’s going on inside this curly head of mine that has the face of fifteen year old.

I have channeled a passion for environmental stewardship and awareness into a bachelors of science in Sustainability Studies, which includes topics like climate change, economics, and renewable energy development. I have also just recently completed a master's degree in Interdisciplinary Sciences, which deals with much of the same subject matter. Both of my degrees are from the Florida Institute of Technology. Now, I work for the City of Cape Canaveral serving as their sustainability manager. My goal in life is but one thing. I intend to help save the world and I want to do it through writing.

To be perfectly honest I’ve never written before, I never took classes for the art, nor did I ever think I would enjoy it. As a matter of fact, I had trouble reading when I was a kid. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever believe I would one day be writing books. The urge to do so started slowly. I started writing this book series four years ago as just a hobby; something I would work on in my free time after classes. Too many things were happening in the world to stay silent, especially in regards to the environment and our changing climate. Too many weren’t listening. Too many weren’t paying attention. Too many just didn’t seem to care. It dawned on me that traditional forms of raising awareness for our ecological crisis were failing. There had to be a better way and I knew I needed to do something to help. It’s not just my future at stake, it’s everyones.

So as I got deeper into my writings and further along in my college education, learning about sustainability and climate change, I realized that what I was drafting was something that could be used as a tool for the masses. Eventually, I had a science fiction book series and I sincerely hope you enjoy it.

It is science fiction, although I would argue it is a part of a new and growing genre called climate fiction (or clifi), fiction works that specifically use climate change as their main story driver. Other noble works in this genre are Kim Stanley Robinson’s New York 2140 or the blockbuster The Day After Tomorrow.

When not writing, I’m still a total nerd. I love all things space and technology. Wind turbines are my favorite form of renewable energy, by the way, both because of their rhythmic beauty and they don't cause cancer... Every now and then I play a round of golf and a set of tennis. Going to the movies is also one of my favorite things to do.

Now that I have the writing bug, I just can’t stop. Expect many more books and short stories to follow.

This is only the end of the beginning...
